“A Burst of Summer”

For this exhibition, Galerie Joaquin brings together a selection of works that examine a seasonal condition defined by heightened perceptual and material intensity, foregrounding how artists engage with warmth, luminosity, and atmospheric expansiveness through deliberate formal strategies. Rather than relying on direct representation, the works construct environments in which sensorial experience is translated into visual language. Color, light, and surface become primary vehicles through which this condition is made visible, allowing each composition to function as a site of encounter between the viewer and a heightened state of awareness.

In this exhibition, color assumes a structuring role. Chromatic fields are carefully calibrated to generate atmosphere, guiding the viewer through shifts in saturation, contrast, and tonal density. These variations evoke the changing qualities of light across the day, from the clarity of early illumination to the intensity of midday and the softened diffusion that follows. Such transitions are not presented as narrative sequences but are embedded within the compositional logic of each work. Texture further reinforces this dynamic, with surfaces that suggest accumulation, heat, and subtle movement. Through these material decisions, the works sustain a dialogue between the optical and the tactile, inviting close and sustained viewing.
