“When Art Comes Home”
Galerie Joaquin Rockwell
August 20 – September 4, 2026
Galerie Joaquin and Opulence Design Concept come together in a celebration of art, design, and the beauty of living with what inspires us in a collaboration exhibit at Galerie Joaquin Rockwell from August 20-September 4, 2026. Featuring works by Eufemio Rasco Jr. and Jaspher Penuliar, the collaboration brings the expressive beauty of fine art into dialogue with the refined world of interiors, furnishings, and tablescapes curated by Opulence Design Concept.
Opulence Design Concept brings together some of the world’s most distinctive names in design, curating objects that transform interiors through craftsmanship, character, and considered detail. More than decorative pieces, each object is selected for the story it tells and the presence it brings to a space.
For this collaboration with Galerie Joaquin, Opulence presents a special curation conceived in dialogue with the artworks. Pieces have been thoughtfully paired with the collection—complementing its colors, forms, textures, and narratives while creating a setting where art and design naturally coexist.
At the heart of the curation is Fornasetti, the iconic Milanese design atelier founded by artist and designer Piero Fornasetti. Known for transforming furniture and objects into works of art, the house brings together surrealism, classical references, architectural motifs, and extraordinary craftsmanship.
Featured in the curation are pieces from Fornasetti’s Architettura line, distinguished by its intricate architectural façades and trompe-l’œil details, alongside the house’s celebrated Lina Cavalieri pieces. The enigmatic face of the Italian opera singer became Piero Fornasetti’s most enduring muse, reinterpreted across hundreds of imaginative variations and now one of the most recognizable signatures of the house.
Alongside Fornasetti are pieces from Versace Home, which translates the fashion house’s bold codes, classical mythology, and unmistakable glamour into the interior, and Dolce&Gabbana Casa, where Italian craftsmanship meets the exuberant colors, patterns, and decorative traditions of the Mediterranean.
Much like the artworks presented by Galerie Joaquin, the pieces curated by Opulence celebrate the beauty of detail. Ornate, intricate, expressive, and thoughtfully composed, each has been chosen not simply to occupy a space, but to become part of its story. Here, paintings become more than works to admire. They become part of the spaces in which we gather, entertain, and live.
When Art Comes Home celebrates the meeting of two creative worlds—the art we collect and the spaces we create around it. Together, Galerie Joaquin and Opulence Design Concept invite guests to experience how art and home décor can exist in beautiful conversation, creating interiors that are not merely decorated, but collected, curated, and lived in.
Eufemio Rasco IV (b. 1981) is a Filipino painter known for his meticulous realism and refined draftsmanship. A graduate of the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts and the Philippine Women’s University Institute of Fine Arts and Design, Rasco is best known for his evocative figurative works and alabaster nudes. His practice, however, extends beyond the human form, reflecting a broader fascination with beauty, nature, and instinct.
In his bird-and-orchid paintings, Rasco brings the same precision to the natural world. Delicately rendered orchids provide an elegant backdrop for vividly colored birds, creating a graceful interplay of stillness and movement. The intricate flowers and expressive birds transform the compositions into intimate celebrations of nature in its serenity.
Jaspher Penuliar (b. 1980) is a contemporary Filipino painter known for his refined realism and contemplative approach to ordinary subjects. A graduate of Fine Arts, majoring in Painting, from the University of the Philippines Diliman, Penuliar’s practice explores nature, memory, and the passage of time. His restrained visual language transforms familiar objects into quiet meditations on beauty, impermanence, and endurance.
Penuliar pares his imagery down to essential elements: smooth stones, delicate branches, and weightless feathers set against atmospheric grounds. Elements contrast between fragility and permanence and become poetic reflections on transience and resilience. With their muted palette and meticulous detail, the paintings invite a moment of stillness and finding beauty in simplicity and meaning in the fleeting traces of nature.
