“Under the Blue Sky”

April 24 – May 3, 2026

There is a particular clarity that arrives in the height of the season—when light stretches longer, colors intensify, and the world seems to open itself without restraint. Under the Blue Sky takes its bearings from this condition, framing an exhibition where warmth, radiance, and atmosphere shape both vision and experience. The works gathered here move across figuration, landscape, and abstraction. Yet, they are bound by a shared sensitivity to light and air—to how the season renders the familiar newly vivid.

The presence of summer is felt not simply as a subject but as a governing mood. Scenes of everyday life unfold with luminosity: figures gather, labor, and rest within spaces touched by brightness, their gestures carrying ease shaped by the season’s openness. There is a sense of time slowing without becoming still, where human activity settles into a rhythm attuned to longer days and lingering light. These compositions hold the everyday in suspension, allowing it to breathe within fields of color that suggest both immediacy and calm.

Elsewhere, the natural world asserts itself through shifting terrains—water coursing over stone, foliage rising toward warmth, expanses that stretch toward an implied horizon. These landscapes are not merely descriptive; they carry the sensation of the season as movement and continuity, where light travels across surfaces and forms dissolve into atmosphere. Even in their stillness, they suggest vitality, a world animated by heat, growth, and the passage of time.

Through this exhibition, Abstraction enters as a parallel register, translating the season into gesture and sensation. Layered pigments, fluid lines, and luminous contrasts evoke heat, wind, and the pulse of energy that defines this time of year. Here, summer becomes less a place than a condition—an internal landscape where perception shifts and expands. The works resist fixed interpretation, offering instead an experience that is immediate, immersive, and open-ended.

What emerges from this collection is a shared orientation toward expansiveness. Under a sky that suggests both vastness and possibility, these works hold together multiple ways of seeing—intimate and sweeping, grounded and atmospheric. This exhibition proposes summer not as spectacle but as a state of attention: a heightened awareness of light, of presence, and of the transformations that occur when the world is held in its brightest, most open moment.
