Ella Hipolito’s journey with the Galerie Joaquin Group has unfolded as a gentle yet vibrant exploration of imagination. From From her two-man show “Avian Visions: When Whimsy Meets Realism”, where birds became expressive vessels of freedom, movement, and wonder, to Enchanting Realms last December, where her visual world expanded into an exuberant landscape of color, fantasy, and playful forms, each chapter has revealed a deeper dimension of her artistic language. Hipolito has continued to look at the world with a sense of curiosity and delight, transforming familiar images into intimate worlds of her own. Her latest exhibit, “The Poetry of Little Things” marks the next chapter in this evolving journey where she continues her visual storytelling by turning her gaze toward the quiet magic found in the little things that often escape our notice.

Hipolitos 14 artworks are rendered in a joyful language of bold color, playful forms, delicate patterns, and whimsical figures, which unfold like fragments of remembered dreams. Again, she brings her viewers into a world where birds become companions, flowers seem to dance, clouds drift into imagined worlds, and simple objects take on a life of their own. Her imagery carries an unmistakable sense of childlike wonder while blending soft folk-art motifs into almost tapestry-like narratives.

Beneath the apparent simplicity of these works lies a thoughtful celebration of imagination. Hipolito embraces the freedom to play, allowing shapes and colors to wander beyond the boundaries of the literal. Her compositions are at once spontaneous and carefully considered, balancing exuberance with moments of quiet tenderness. Each painting becomes a small universe in itself, filled with color, movement, and endless possibilities.

This spirit extends naturally into the debut of her Petite Sculpture Series, where the more intimate scale of her visual world takes tangible form. These sculptural pieces invite the viewer to encounter her imagination up close, transforming the whimsical vocabulary of her paintings into objects that can be held within the eye and cherished within the home.

Whether crafted as freestanding tabletop pieces or delicate wallbound forms, each work translates her signature motifs into three dimensional forms but on a “cuter” scale. The tabletop sculptures function as miniature tactile anchors that inhabit desks, shelves, and intimate corners with their gentle presence. Meanwhile, the wallbound pieces extend her canvas into physical space, casting subtle shadows and playing with depth to turn static walls into dynamic, narrative-driven displays. Together, these compact creations offer collectors an accessible, multi-dimensional way to bring her world of warmth, nostalgia, and childlike wonder into their daily surroundings.

Ultimately, “The Poetry of Little Things” is a gentle reminder that wonder does not always announce itself through grand gestures. Sometimes, it is found in the smallest places and sometimes, all it asks of us is to stop, look closely, and remember how to wonder.

Rizal Artist Ella Hipolito is a graduate of Fine Arts from the College of the Holy Spirit Manila. She worked as an Art Director prior to being a full time visual artist in 2015. She is Co-founder of the San Mateo Artists Guild, the first & only recognized art group in San Mateo, Rizal and has had several solo shows. She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions and art demonstrations and was a finalist in several prestigious competitions including the GSIS National Art Competition. She started sculpting in Brass in 2021 while continuously painting her whimsical works on Canvas.
