Jepoy Almario (b. 1980) is a Filipino contemporary visual artist from Manila. Born to an art-loving tamily, Almario’s talent in the visual arts was honed at a very early age. A Fine Arts Major in Advertising graduate at the University of Santo Tomas, Jepoy received mentorship from prominent artists. After universi-ty, Almario took a hiatus from the visual arts scene to gain exposure from the fields of broadcasting, music, fashion and education. Even so, he set time to paint continuously to discover a style characterized by multiple images that implied manifold life options – an expression of his state of mind. He also took the opportunity to learn about painting theory during his stint in the academe, an effort which would prime him for a resolute move to pursue art full time.
In 2009, he became one of the Finalists at the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence Competition, being given the opportunity to exhibit and sell his work – a turning point that would set him to pursue art as a profession. This experience would then push him to join in countless group shows and art fairs through his connection and was able to join in two international group exhibitions held in Hong Kong and New York, USA.
