For James Gabito’s latest exhibition, the artworks serve as portals to the past. Etched upon the canvas are scenes of a city that flourishes with vitality. “Ripples of Time" is not just an art exhibition but also a pilgrimage into the depths of the human spirit. James Gabito, a Baguio-based artist, 2015 GSIS honorable mention and 2015 MADE finalist, paints archetypes of the mountain province culture attesting to the region’s unspoiled vibrant way of living. Gabito assembles these images with a sense of artisanal intricacy and rawness to his subjects. Gabito’s interpretation stems from his perspective of change in practice, such as that from weaving or planting rice.

“Ripples of Time” by James Gabito will be on view from June 6 – 16, 2023 with the Artist Reception slated for Tuesday, June 6 at 5 PM.
