“Fibonacci” by Michael Pastorizo exhibits at Galerie Joaquin U.P. Town Center

Show runs from September 14 to 25, 2019
By Grace A. Ng

Adapting his work from the origins of pattern, the Fibonacci sequence, Michael Pastorizo began creating pieces with these ideas in mind as he discovers ways to convey art as infinite.

For his solo exhibit aptly titled “Fibonacci”, he integrated his technique and color and experimented with how they work together with the concept of patterns. The effect of this ebb and flow of design, now embodied with iconic forms and color, has led to his inception of this new and unique visual lexicon, quiet yet powerful, and hauntingly majestic. Pastorizo hopes this concept and approach to creating art will open doors for a completely new and lush art movement.

Viewing one of Pastorizo’s paintings is to experience a burst of charm with the intertwining of colors and the simplicity of forms. This is followed by a heightening base sense of awareness as the viewer develops a full appreciation of the richness of color and its depth beneath the surface texture.

Incorporating traditional and contemporary art methods with a distinctive use of color and form, Michael Pastorizo’s paintings introduce depth and detail which inteiguingly brings serenity to the viewer. His careful approach to laying down paint in a precise order, balanced with his formatted approach, creates a multi-dimensional feeling. Viewers comment that the artist’s paintings have a karmic depth, in which one can walk right in and feel the textures of all that is around.

“Fibonacci” will be on view from September 14 to 25, 2019 with the Artist Reception scheduled for Wednesday, September 18 at 6PM. The gallery is located on the 2nd Floor of Phase 2, UP Town Center, Katipunan Ave, Diliman, Quezon City. For inquiries, contact Galerie Joaquin at (+63)2 247 1109 or email galeriejoaquin@gmail.com.
