GLIMMERING ILLUMINATIONS

Vermillion is a shade linking red and orange much similar to the color of fire. According to the psychology of color hues in this shade are associated with high energy and desired for its attention grabbing qualities. Seeing these colors trigger an emotional reaction that signals our body to increase the oxygen supply to the brain. In effect, it leaves us with an invigorated feeling and stimulates mental activity.

Among these shades is orange which has been used as trademark of royalty such as the monarchs of the Netherlands and Thailand. This color is symbolic of strength and endurance, two qualities that make for a promising new year.

Glass sculpture artist, Marge Organo, embraces the color of warmth in her latest show GLIMMERING ILLUMINATIONS. This collection features Organo's skillfully colored optic glass sculptures in warm tonal hues that range from orange to red. Breathing new innovation into her work is a new medium. She adorns these pieces with a touch of gold. Using gold leaf encapsulations, the effect creates a soirée between color, light and shape within her signature medium.

Each piece offers an unorthodoxed view inside layered optic glass allowing viewers and collectors to admire this curated palette of colors. It is her personal guarantee that no two pieces are ever alike as her style remains consistent in practice.

Although having entered the art scene fairly recently, Organo has honed her skills in quite a short period of time. Having semi-retired from a career in the pharmaceutical industry, Organo – already a mother of four adult children – decided to take her nascent passion for art and forge a solo career in the art scene. Starting with the rudiments of painting by taking formal lessons in 2014, she moved on to sculpture by pursuing studies in glass sculpture at the prestigious and internationally renowned Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass in New York. In New York, she learned coldworking and glass lamination under the tutelage of topnotch Czech artists, among the world’s most renowned masters of glass. Taking various techniques from different fields – including tile mosaic and construction, she honed her technique to the point of mastery before returning to the Philippines, where receptive critics were quick to hail her practice. After several one-woman exhibitions in Makati, Organo made her first major debut in last year’s ManilART at SMX in SM Aura with her exhibit “Kaleidoscopic Visions.”
