  JÚBILO

On December 16, Galerie Raphael unveils its Masters and Senior Artist’ exhibit entitled "Júbilo", featuring the works of modern masters Arturo Luz, Federico Aguilar Alcuaz, Nena Saguil, Jose Joya and H. R. Ocampo. The exhibit, which runs until December 31, also includes pieces by respected senior artists Lydia Velasco, Mario Parial and Dominic Rubio. Galerie Raphael is on the 2nd Level of Serendra Mall, Fort Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. For more information, please visit www.galeriejoaquin.com or call 8563034 or 7239418.

According to gallery curator, Sheilah Alvero, "the season for giving and thanksgiving reminds us to look back on the fruits of our hard work and achievements of the past year. Amid the holiday rush, it is essential to reflect on the things in life that have lasting value. In these special times, nothing compares to a work of art in encouraging one to find beauty in the world around and to ponder on the things that will get everyone through the tough times ahead."

"A piece by one of the country’s most established artists is not only functional as a conversation piece or an inspiring image to grace the home or office", but according to Alvero "it is also a secure investment, as artworks particularly done by masters and senior artists do not depreciate in value. Owning an iconic work by a national artist or a recognized figure in the art scene, whether on canvas or on paper, is something collectors can be proud of. It is not only a good and secure investment, it is something one can enjoy in the comfort of one’s abode."

The artworks assembled by Galerie Raphael are composed of Luz’s linear female figures and temples, Nena Saguil’s abundant blue circular forms, H.R. Ocampo’s interlocking abstraction in a warm palette, Parial’s dynamic and traditional folk figures, Sanso’s acrylic blooms, Velasco’s women and flowers, Rubio’s contemporary interpretations of a nostalgic and romantic time gone by, and rare pieces from National Artist Jose Joya and Presidential Medal of Merit awardee Aguilar Alcuaz.

With Jubilo, Alvero suggests that collectors "cap the year-end festivities with the Masters and give the gift of art, a fitting thanksgiving for the year gone by and a sound investment for the future that never loses its value."
