ALCUAZ AUTHENTICATION AT GALERIE JOAQUIN MAIN

This Sunday, February 8, 2009, from 2 pm to 6 pm at the 2nd Floor of Galerie Joaquin Main, an authentication session of the works of renowned artist Federico Aguilar Alcuaz will be held. Collectors of Alcuaz’ works are encouraged to bring their paintings to be authenticated and attested to. Interested parties may also wish to attend a lecture on the artist and his career by Dr. Reuben Ramos Cañete, which will start at 2:30 p.m.
A few rare works will be available on exhibit during the authentication session. For appointment and confirmation of attendance at the authentication session please call 7239253 or 7239418. Recognition for the art of Aguilar Alcuaz was significant in Spain during the period he stayed in Barcelona. In 1961 in Paris, he was awarded the Diploma of Honor at the International Exhibition of Art Libre. He was also awarded the decoration of Arts, Letters and Sciences from the French government and the Order of French Genius in 1964. In 2007, he was granted the Presidential Medal of Merit by the Republic of the Philippines for his outstanding accomplishments in the field of visual arts.
Aguilar Alcuaz’s works are included in the collection of some 20 museums and major cultural institutions in the world today including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Madrid, the Gulvenkian Foundation Museum of London, the Museum of Modern Art of Warsaw, the Museum of Modern Art of Krakow, and the Philips Cultural Museum of the Netherlands. |
